[Soft Tools]is a playful book of four nonsensical tools for caring for the body. It began with a massage device my grandfather made for himself. In response, I created objects that look as though they might help, though their effects remain uncertain. Through photographs, instructions, and movable pages, readers can explore how each tool is meant to work. The book approaches self-care with humor while taking seriously the small acts of making, trying, and believing that a tool might help.

one glove size: 170x215x65mm
A pair of gloves is fitted with magnets positioned so that the same poles face each other. When wearing the gloves and clapping, one resists the repelling magnetic force, thereby strengthening hand muscles.
When two participants clap while wearing the gloves, an attractive force emerges between them, making the sensation of being drawn toward one another perceptible.
